The Vuosaari road tunnel will be closed on 6 January – time to learn the alternative route
Extensive renovation of the Vuosaari road tunnel will begin on 6 January 2026, during which all technical systems and some tunnel structures will be upgraded. The road tunnel will be completely closed to traffic for approximately a year due to the construction work and its traffic will be diverted to the official alternative route. It is now time to get to know the use of the alternative route in order to make traffic as safe as possible.

Further improvements to the alternative route of the Vuosaari road tunnel will be ready by 5 October. Next, functionality tests of the alternative route will take place between 6 and 9 October. During the testing, the tunnel will be closed, and traffic will be directed to the improved alternative route.
